According to a recent THR article, Channing Tatum is the biggest movie star of the current generation of young talent in Hollywood, which is something Anchor Bay should be playing up in this new trailer for the dramedy 10 Years.
Tatum headlines an ensemble cast (including Rosario Dawson, Anthony Mackie, Justin Long, Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Brian Geraghty amongst others) that gets together for its 10 year reunion. Think of it like American Reunion – only with characters you don’t already know and more pathos and you’re on the right track.
Here’s the full trailer (courtesy of Yahoo! Movies), followed by the synopsis. When you're done there, be sure to check out what our own Monika Bartyzel thought of the film in her review from TIFF last year (spoiler: she wasn't blown away by it).
Jake is deeply in love with his girlfriend and ready to propose -- until he runs into his high school flame for the first time in 10 years. Jake's friend Cully married his cheerleader girlfriend, and has been looking forward to the reunion so he can finally apologize to all the classmates he bullied in high school. However, after a few too many drinks, the jock-turned-family man ends up reverting back to his old ways instead. Meanwhile, longtime rivals Marty and A.J spend the night still trying to one-up each other to impress the coolest girl in class, who now has a secret. The famous one of the group, Reeves, is now well-known musician, but is still too shy to talk to the high school crush who inspired his one hit wonder.
10 Years lands in theaters on September 14.
