2013 Golden Globe Winners: 'Les Miserables' and 'Argo' Take Top Honors

2013 Golden Globe Winners: 'Les Miserables' and 'Argo' Take Top Honors

Jan 13, 2013

The 2013 Golden Globe Awards are in the books, and all we want to know is whether Tina Fey and Amy Poehler can host every year. Can they? No, seriously, this needs to happen. Or if not, at least bring them back to star as those fake actors and actresses nominated for the most ridiculous-sounding movies and TV shows (hello, Dog President). But enough about the hosts – there were major awards handed out!

The night’s top honors went to Les Miserables (Best Picture, Comedy/Musical) and Argo (Best Picture, Drama). Yes, Argo! Not Lincoln. Do we smell a new Oscar frontrunner? Oh, and speaking of Oscars, guess who won Best Director only a few days after he wasn’t nominated for the Oscar? Yup, Ben Affleck. Don’t worry Ben, we got your back.

Others who walked away with gold tonight include Jessica Chastain (Best Actress, Drama), Daniel Day-Lewis (Best Actor, Drama), Jennifer Lawrence (Best Actress, Comedy/Musical), Anne Hathaway (Best Supporting Actress), flu-sufferer Hugh Jackman (Best Actor, Comedy/Musical), Christoph Waltz (Best Supporting Actor) and, hey, Quentin Tarantino snagged Best Screenplay. We dug that one.

Aside from Fey and Poehler’s tremendous job as hosts that disappeared too early, other highlights included former President Bill Clinton strolling out to introduce Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, and Jodie Foster’s passionate Cecil B. DeMille speech, which was easily the night’s most memorable moment. Either that, or Dog President – it’s a toss up. Also, if drunk Tina Fey and Amy Poehler can’t host next year, maybe Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig can instead. They get our Most Memorable Presenters award.

Check out the full list of 2013 Golden Globe winners below, and let us know what you thought of the show. Favorite speech? Best moment? Sound off below!
