FULL SYNOPSIS

A pair of hard-luck septuagenarian bank robbers is pursued by two bickering police detectives whose failing romance threatens to stall the already bungled investigation in director Gabor Rohonyi's affectionately geriatric crime comedy. In the 1950s Hungary was a dangerous place, and when kindly chauffer Emil (Emil Keres) gave shelter to frightened Heidi (Teri Foldi), his selfless act was repaid with a lifetime of love and devotion. Fifty years later, Emil and Heidi may have fallen on hard times but their bond remains as strong as ever. In order to finance their retirement, Emil masterminds a series of robberies that soon find he and Heidi dubbed the "Blood Money Pensioners" by a sensationalistic press. Despite achieving folk hero status in the eyes of the people, Emil and Heidi have become an endless source of embarrassment to the local police. When the elderly pair manages the impressive task of taking the mob for a tidy sum, hothead cop Andor (Zoltan Schmied) and his girlfriend/slash partner Agi (Judit Schell) set out to capture that the so-called Blood Money Pensioners before the mob gets to them first. If they can only stop arguing long enough to make the arrest, Andor and Agi may be able to salvage their relationship and save the lives of the sympathetic criminals who captured the heart of a nation. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
