    WOLVERINE PREQUEL vs. IRON MAN 2

    Hugh Jackman Bad Idea #1 Hugh Jackman is yapping again about doing a prequel set in Japan. He mentioned this a few months back, and I thought it would go away. Now he’s “talking to writers.” Hopefully those writers are telling him, “Look, dude. We all love Wolverine. But enough is enough. Give it a rest for awhile.” Bad Idea #1 Corollary: Don't get too excited about the first pic of Tony Stark. Not surprisingly, he looks pretty much the same. Only he's got a niftier computer monitor. Whee.

    WALL STREET 2

    Shia LaBeouf Bad Idea #2 Oliver Stone is back to direct, and Shia LaBeouf might star. I hope in the sequel they still use the gigantic cell phone that Michael Douglas lugged around on the beach.

    DROP DEAD FRED

    Russell Brand Bad Idea #3 Come on. There has to be another movie to remake besides this. Back in 1991, I picked this up off the shelf of the Video Farm (yes, that’s what my hick town’s only video store was called) because it had Phoebe Cates in it. Terrible, terrible mistake. I should have just rented Fast Times again. Casting Russell Brand as the imaginary friend is only going to make this new version more irritating.

    THE EXPENDABLES

    Sly Stallone Bad Idea #4 Here’s the first footage of Sly Stallone directing his next action movie. The part I don’t understand is a little more than halfway through, when a plane flies overhead and he yells, “Whoa! That’s sex!” Maybe it’s a weird reference to a mile-high club encounter?

    BORN TO BE A STAR

    Don Johnson Bad Idea #5 Mustaches are a bad idea. A mustache on Don Johnson is an even worse idea. And a mustache on Don Johnson, playing a porno director, is the worst idea.
