I Am a Sex Addict Grade: D
Who's in It: Caveh Zahedi, Rebecca Lord

The Basics: Twerpy sex addict Zahedi reenacts his multiple encounters with prostitutes and then talks directly to the camera about it, staring his big buggy eyes right through you and making sex sound like the least appealing thing you've ever heard of. Thanks, dude.

What's the Deal? It would all be OK if this guy's attempt to lampoon his prostitute fetish were actually funny. But it's not. It's just a former philosophy major and male feminist who once marched in an anti-pornography rally feeling guilty about buying sex and talking and talking and talking about it for 80 minutes. Personally, what I really wanted to know was where he got all the money to fund this costly little habit.

Here's the Big Joke of the Whole Movie: He'll go, "When I told the prostitute I wanted her to [fill in the blank with naughty sex act here], I was worried she'd run screaming." Cut to re-enactment of a hooker running away and screaming. "Or maybe she'd slap my face!" Cut to re-enactment of a hooker slapping his face. Then he shows his French girlfriend this script he's written about Rimbaud. He says, "She told me I could get funding for my script in France." Cut to the woman playing the French girlfriend saying, "You can get funding in France." This happens many more times. Doesn't just reading about it crack you up?

Move Over, Traci Lords: The re-enactment version of Caveh's French girlfriend is played by Rebecca Lord, a real-life French porn star. The printable titles from her IMDB.com page are: The Erotic Misadventures of The Invisible Man, Laura Crotch: Tomb Raider and A Clockwork Orgy.

Creepiest Moment, Besides the Creepy Moments in Which You're Forced to Think About or Watch This Person Having Sex: He plays a cassette recording of his first sex-addict support-group meeting, and you can hear him crying on it. Think about that. He brings a secret tape recorder to a sex-addict meeting and then performance-cries for it.
