I, Monster Details

FULL SYNOPSIS

In this fairly interesting variant on [[Feature~V14555~Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde~drjekyllandmrhyde]] from Britain's Amicus Studios, [[Performer~P41362~Christopher Lee~christopherlee]] stars as Marlowe, a stuffy doctor who develops a formula to release inhibitions. When he takes it, Marlowe turns into the evil and repulsive Mr. Blake. The twist is that Blake gets uglier with each successive dose until he becomes a pitiful, ape-like monster. [[Performer~P16338~Peter Cushing~petercushing]] co-stars as Marlowe's lawyer friend, and a young [[Performer~P24815~Chloe Franks~chloefranks]] appears with [[Performer~P58932~Mike Raven~mikeraven]] and [[Performer~P74784~Kenneth J. Warren~kennethjwarren]]. Despite the low budget, director [[Performer~P116209~Stephen Weeks~stephenweeks]] manages to present a realistic depiction of Victorian England, and Lee turns in a memorable performance. The film started shooting in 3-D, but the idea was discarded during production. ~ Robert Firsching, Rovi
