Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Knowing where the prequel trilogy needed to end, George Lucas saved the most upsetting, most violent sequences for the third episode. Jedi Masters killed? Check. Slaughtering children under the protection of the Jedi temple? Check. Cutting off a man's legs and one of his arms, watching him burned nearly to a crisp, and leaving him to die? Check. A heroine dying in childbirth? Check. Eh, this may have been too dark.
