After three great short films, the first feature-length Wallace and Gromit movie, from 2005, included a scary monster that is kept to the shadows for a long while. Using pauses and silences, this Oscar winner is actually quite a bit spookier than any G-rated movie should really be. Don't worry; it's also quite funny, and gets funnier as the mystery gets close to being solved. Nick Park directed, with help from Steve Box; Helena Bonham Carter and Ralph Fiennes provided voices.
