After waiting 13 years for a resuscitation of the Trek franchise, fans were unfortunately rewarded in 1979 with the big screen snoozer, Star Trek. Who didn’t start to nod off during that ultra slow push around the U.S.S. Enterprise? Luckily, being boring wasn’t enough to kill the franchise again and three years later director Nicholas Meyer got it really right with Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan. Back was the camaraderie of Captain Kirk and his crew and there was an epic mission against a villain, Khan Noonien Singh, from the show’s history that pleased fans, old and new. The movie even made Ricardo Montalbán an absolute badass.
