A lot of Terminator fans may disagree, but James Cameron’s original sci-fi, B-movie epic made in 1984 has plenty of flaws despite the compelling time traveling story and memorable performances. Made on a shoe-string budget with lots of low-budget ingenuity, Terminator came out much better than anyone could have imagined. Seven years later, Cameron wrote a sequel that was matched to a massive budget, ground-breaking visual effects and every slick trick-of-the-trade and Terminator 2: Judgment Day blew the doors off of contemporary sci-fi filmmaking. His own sequel made his original film look quaint in comparison.
