Laying waste to not one but two action franchises, this quasi-sequel clumsily married the most obvious possibilities from the Alien and Predator series. It failed to bring a fresh perspective to either storyline, and director Paul W.S. Anderson’s formula of quick edits and jarring angles simply induced headaches. Fans were also let down by the studio’s decision to maximize profits with a PG-13 rating, resulting in a further defanged movie that nobody wanted.
