10. Write about yourself more than the movie.
Nobody cares that you wrote a script 20 years ago and the movie played once on TBS at 3:00 in the morning. If you really knew what you were doing you'd still be writing movies instead of writing about them. If you're writing a serious film review, can you focus on the actual film, please? I don't care what your wife thought. I don't care what your girlfriend/boyfriend/uncle/kid or dog thought about the movie. I care about what you thought which is why I'm reading your stupid review in the first place.
