Johnny Depp's turn as a talking lizard in Rango is just the latest in the long-running wave of animated movies that has crashed through multiplexes in recent years. Hollywood's ginormous animation machine cranks out plenty for the kiddies--that put their parents right to sleep. We think that's short-sighted and unfair, so we've compiled a mixed bag of cool "cartoons" for you adults who crave more than just cute n' cuddly (think dark Brit pic Watership Down and 1981's Heavy Metal, a new version of which has been long rumored to be coming from David Fincher).
