In no uncertain terms, Night Warning is a monster movie. But rather than a werewolf, a killer shark or a mutated insect, Night Warning’s monster is the seemingly loving matriarch played by the force of nature that was the late Susan Tyrrell. The movie is a slow descent into insanity that absolutely paralyzes the senses. It is one of those rare horror titles that excels by virtue of the character study at the heart of its narrative. Alternatively titled Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker, Night Warning is a merciless carnival ride that never looks back to see how many of its passengers have managed to survive its many sharp turns and sudden drops.
