8 Long-Delayed Films That Actually Turned Out Great

Writer/director Michael Dougherty’s creepy Halloween themed anthology movie Trick r’ Treat definitely got beat up by the horrors of studio indecision. Completed in 2007, Warner Bros slated it for an appropriate October release but then a month before it opened, the studio cancelled it. Trick r’ Treat had to settle for screenings at several film festivals, where it earned glowing reviews and eventually debuted at San Diego Comic-Con in 2009. In October ‘09, it came out direct-to-DVD where it proved to be an absolutely worthy collection of four scary stories tied together by a trick-or-treater in a burlap sack covered face.
