Let’s jump right in with what is easily the biggest draw of the entire festival. Any horror fan worth his salt is well aware of the trope of taking a group of teenagers and isolating them from society, and from all semblance of safety, in a cabin in the woods. We’ve seen horrific scenarios unfold at remote, rustic locale so many times that it’s almost comical. Luckily Drew Goddard (Cloverfield) and Joss Whedon (Firefly, The Avengers) have promised that their new film The Cabin in the Woods will shake things up and turn a tired old convention on its head.
