Audiences remember this bawdy comedy for the many scenes where Billy Bob Thornton curses at children and/or loses control of his bodily functions, but don’t forget that it’s also a caper movie — Thornton’s Willie Stokes and his little-person pal Marcus (Tony Cox) get hired every year as Santa and elf at a different mall so that when all the customers leave on December 24, safecracker Willie can steal money from the department store while Marcus and his wife ransack the consumer goodies.
