In this political satire, clothed as an allegorical retelling of the Antigone story, elements of modern Greek life are incorporated. Antigone is the queen of an island in the Aegean in 1400 B.C., but she is opposed by the regional authorities and the Church. Kreon is the puppet of the Cretan and Mycenaean authorities and eventually wins control using military force. However, the only real winner in this conflict is the Church. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi
