CONTROL FACTS
This biopic tells the real-life story of Ian Curtis (Sam Riley), a disaffected teenager in 1970s-era England who helped found the band Joy Division as a way to release his inner demons. While the band showed much early promise, Curtis was tormented by severe depression. Curtis also married at a very young age his sweetheart Deborah (Samantha Morton) and had a daughter with her. As the marriage slowly crumbled and Curtis suffered from epilepsy, he eventually took his own life at the age of 23, just as Joy Division was poised to become one of the most influential bands of the 1980s.
