Calling All Fibbers

In her first 2-reel comedy of 1945, dizzy Vera Vague pretends to have been injured in a car accident in order to avoid conflicting appointments. The comedy, not one of Vera's best, was a remake of Fibbing Fibbers, a 1936 2-reeler starring the equally scatterbrained Walter Catlett. Vera Vague was the creation of radio comedienne Barbara Jo Allen, who later assumed the identity as her own for billing purposes. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, Rovi
