Tammy Blanchard Biography

  • Profession: Actor
  • Born: Jan 1, 0001
  • Died: Jan 1, 0001

Actress Tammy Blanchard turned more than a few heads by evoking the young [[Performer~P25962~Judy Garland~judygarland]] in the critically praised made-for-television drama [[Feature~V257555~Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows~lifewithjudygarland:meandmyshadows]] (2001). The effort (which Blanchard graduated to after three seasons on the soap opera [[Feature~V344758~Guiding Light~guidinglight[tvseries]]]) netted several award nominations for the rising star, and in fact won her an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie. Blanchard followed it up with two very different assignments -- a turn as a young Ivy League coed-to-be in the [[Performer~P271305~Tom Green~tomgreen]]-headlined frat-boy comedy [[Feature~V265925~Stealing Harvard~stealingharvard]] (2002), and a much more difficult evocation of a young deaf girl who nearly snares the heart of CIA agent Edward Wilson ([[Performer~P16762~Matt Damon~mattdamon]]) in [[Performer~P17593~Robert De Niro~robertdeniro]]'s Cold War epic [[Feature~V317817~The Good Shepherd~thegoodshepherd]] (2006). Also in 2006, Blanchard signed for a more conventional romantic lead opposite [[Performer~P359406~Eduardo Verástegui~eduardoverástegui]] in the drama [[Feature~V348546~Bella~bella]]; the actress portrays a pregnant waitress, heartbroken when she loses her job -- only to feel her hopes soar as she encounters the love of her life. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
