Robert Ben Garant Biography

  • Profession: Screenwriter, Actor, Screen Story, Director
  • Born: Jan 1, 0001
  • Died: Jan 1, 0001

Known to many as the mustachioed Deputy Travis Junior on the farcical [[Feature~V290799~Reno 911!~reno911[tvseries]]], Robert Ben Garant first made an impression with audiences on the sketch-comedy show [[Feature~V410583~The State~thestate[tvseries]]], which ran on MTV from 1993 to 1995. The show's bizarre and outlandish sensibilities gave viewers a taste of what was to come with Garant, who would take a break from film and television during the late '90s, only to return in 2003 to help create, write, and act in [[Feature~V290799~Reno 911!~reno911[tvseries]]], which was a hit on Comedy Central. Garant then re-teamed with his writing partner [[Performer~P353842~Thomas Lennon~thomaslennon]] to pen the scripts for [[Feature~V303609~Herbie: Fully Loaded~herbie:fullyloaded]], [[Feature~V307878~The Pacifier~thepacifier]], and [[Feature~V340663~Night at the Museum~nightatthemuseum]]. In 2007, Garant and the rest of the cast of [[Feature~V290799~Reno 911!~reno911[tvseries]]] brought their show to the big screen, with [[Feature~V345987~Reno 911!: Miami~reno911:miami]], and that same year, Garant put on both the writer's and director's hat with the over-the-top ping-pong comedy [[Feature~V337884~Balls of Fury~ballsoffury]]. In 2009 he wrote the script for Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. ~ Cammila Collar, Rovi
