  • Born: Jan 1, 0001
  • Died: Jan 1, 0001

Internationally recognized fashion designer Marlene Stewart is also known for her distinctive costuming in a wide range of feature films. Her designs range from recreating the conservative early-'60s attire in JFK (1991) to the wild, colorful clothing worn by Patrick Swayze and Wesley Snipes in To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995) to the fantasy costumes of The Phantom (1996). Stewart also worked closely with Madonna during the late '80s, providing get-ups for the singer's live concerts; some of Stewart's designs can be seen in Madonna's documentary Truth or Dare (1991). ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
