American-born Lewis D. Collins was a theater director before calling the shots on a series of two-reel films. Collins' first feature was 1930's [[Feature~V89399~The Devil's Pit~devilspit]], which he also scripted. The bulk of his output from 1931 to 1952 consisted of economical detective, Western, and jungle pictures. Lewis D.
