Jack Gold Biography

  • Profession: Director
  • Born: Jun 28, 1930
  • Died: Jan 1, 0001

After a decades' worth of experience in British television, director Jack Gold made his feature-film debut with the critically acclaimed [[Feature~V85585~The Bofors Gun~theboforsgun]] (1968). Gold's later films have been a curious lot, none curiouser than the revisionist Robinson Crusoe flick [[Feature~V31084~Man Friday~manfriday]] (1976). Occasionally returning to TV, Gold has directed such praiseworthy efforts as [[Feature~V8652~Catholics~theconflict]] (1973), [[Feature~V34383~The Naked Civil Servant~thenakedcivilservant]] (1975) and the [[Performer~P63859~Ricky Schroder~rickschroder]] version of [[Feature~V29545~Little Lord Fauntleroy~littlelordfauntleroy]] (1980). More recently, Jack Gold has busied himself with made-for-cable features along the lines of [[Feature~V42627~Sakharov~sakharov]] (1989). ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
