Born in Detroit, MI, director Greta Schiller has traveled around the world making extensively researched and highly informative documentary films. Her first major feature-length release was the Emmy award-winning documentary [[Feature~V73744~Before Stonewall~beforestonewall]], an in-depth history of the gay rights movement in America. Along with her partner and frequent collaborator, [[Performer~P203502~Andrea Weiss~andreaweiss]], Schiller founded Jezebel Productions and made a trilogy of documentaries about women in jazz. Her international breakthrough was the highly acclaimed [[Feature~V135516~Paris Was a Woman~pariswasawoman]], which received a theatrical release in the U.S. and was broadcast on the Sundance Channel.
