Eddie Steeples Biography

  • Profession: Actor
  • Born: Jan 1, 0001
  • Died: Jan 1, 0001

If you're an avid television viewer, chances are good that you recalled actor Eddie Steeples' face when [[Feature~V336018~My Name Is Earl~mynameisearl[tvseries]]] debuted on NBC back in 2005. If so, that's likely because Steeples' role as the dancing office supply guy in the popular "Rubberband Man" OfficeMax commercial nearly took the Emmy for best television advertisement just one year prior. A veteran of the St. Louis Black Repertory Theatre who later moved to New York City and aligned himself with avant-garde hip-hop outfit No Surrender, Steeples appeared in a number of experimental films by director [[Performer~P307430~Kevin Ford~kevinford]] before breaking into the mainstream with a role in [[Feature~V276341~Torque~torque]]. Though he would turn up in [[Feature~V336018~My Name Is Earl~mynameisearl[tvseries]]] as Crab Shack employee Darnell (and husband of Earl's ex-wife, Joy) the very next year, Steeples' independent spirit was still very much alive, as evidenced by his involvement in such edgy indie flicks as [[Feature~V348095~The Lost~thelost]] and [[Feature~V340430~Wristcutters: A Love Story~wristcutters:alovestory]] in 2006. An additional role in award-winning drama [[Feature~V321726~Akeelah and the Bee~akeelahandthebee]] helped to prove that Steeples was capable of low-key drama as well, though he would continue displaying his loyalty to old friends by appearing in [[Feature~V384988~Roman~roman]] (which was lensed by [[Performer~P307430~Ford~kevinford]]), [[Feature~V348095~The Lost~thelost]] director [[Performer~P373466~Chris Sivertson~chrissivertson]]'s [[Feature~V379456~I Know Who Killed Me~iknowwhokilledme]], and opposite [[Feature~V384988~Roman~roman]] co-star [[Performer~P270651~Angela Bettis~angelabettis]] in the [[Performer~P307430~Ford~kevinford]]-helmed comedy When Is Tomorrow in 2007. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
