Though she was often mistaken for the daughter of Winston Churchill, actress Diana Churchill was no relation to the great British leader. She spent most of her decades-long career on stage and was at the peak of her popularity during the 1950s and 1960s. She debuted in Service for Ladies (1931); her subsequent film career includes [[Feature~V108726~Sally Bishop~sallybishop]] (1932), [[Feature~V89716~The Dominant Sex~thedominantsex]] (1937), [[Feature~V117924~Yes Madam?~yesmadam]] (1938), and [[Feature~V43229~Scott of the Antarctic~scottoftheantarctic]] (1948). Churchill made her final film appearance in 1949's [[Feature~V95354~The History of Miss Polly~thehistoryofmrpolly]]. During the 1960s, the illness of her spouse ([[Performer~P120440~Barry K. Barnes~barrybarnes]]) caused her to retire from acting. He died in 1965 and, not long after, Churchill developed multiple sclerosis. She entered the retirement home for British actors in the mid-'70s. There, Churchill met character actor [[Performer~P35751~Mervyn Johns~mervynjohns]], whom she married in 1976.
