A trained Broadway singer and dancer, Christine Ebersole started acting in the 1970s on the ABC soap opera [[Feature~V216969~Ryan's Hope~ryanshope[tvseries]]]. On Broadway, she shared the stage with many greats in shows like Camelot. In 1981, she joined the cast of [[Feature~V175321~Saturday Night Live~saturdaynightlive[tvseries]]] before returning to soaps to play Maxi McDermott on [[Feature~V284353~One Life to Live~onelifetolive[tvseries]]] and earning a Daytime Emmy nomination. In 1985, Ebersole moved on to the sitcoms The Cavanaughs and Valerie. She sang the theme song as well as starred in the short-lived Fox sitcom Rachel Gunn, R.N. After making her film debut with a bit part in [[Feature~V50420~Tootsie~tootsie]], she had a few film roles, including opera diva Katerina Cavalieri in [[Performer~P90166~Milos Forman~milosforman]]'s [[Feature~V1764~Amadeus~amadeus]]. She also starred in the family sci-fi feature [[Feature~V30576~Mac and Me~macandme]], the [[Performer~P85992~Bill Cosby~billcosby]] vehicle [[Feature~V19635~Ghost Dad~ghostdad]], and several made-for-TV movies. Some of her credits include [[Feature~V131125~My Girl 2~mygirl2]], [[Feature~V18024~Folks!~folks]], [[Feature~V135075~Pie in the Sky~pieinthesky]], and the [[Performer~P102748~Bette Midler~bettemidler]] TV version of [[Feature~V154171~Gypsy~gypsy]]. In 2001, Ebersole received a Tony award for her work on the Broadway revival of 42nd Street.
