Occasional actress, legendary cook, and the mother of distinguished filmmaker [[Performer~P110533~Martin Scorsese~martinscorsese]], Catherine Scorsese was a first generation Italian-American and grew up in New York's Little Italy. After marrying and having two boys, Catherine went to work in the garment district. [[Performer~P110533~Scorsese~martinscorsese]] gave his mother tiny roles in his films such as [[Feature~V31981~Mean Streets~meanstreets]], Goodfellas, and [[Feature~V135453~Casino~casino]]. When not appearing before the camera, [[Performer~P110533~Scorsese~martinscorsese]] was cooking enormous meals for the cast and crew. Later, her son used her and her husband, [[Performer~P64018~Charles~charlesscorsese]], as the subjects of his documentary [[Feature~V144547~Italianamerican~italianamerican]]. Catherine Scorsese has also appeared in a couple of other films, including [[Performer~P85868~Francis Ford Coppola~francisfordcoppola]]'s [[Feature~V20079~The Godfather, Pt. 3~thegodfatherpartiii]].
